When I first ordered these I went with my normal 12, but had to return them for a 13 because the toe was unbearably tight (well beyond the "well, they'll stretch" zone). The 13's I got are great boots; they don't seem to have the same cushy, super-comfy Doc insole that the shoes normally have, but hey, they're boots. Overall quality is superb and they're very, very good looking. Since I had to go a size up, my foot does scoot around just a hair, but that also helps when getting the boots on in the first place...and since I'm wearing long, thick boot socks it all evens out in the end.Tl;Dr- Order a size bigger. Every single shoe I've bought in the last 20 years has been a size 12, including running shoes and formal shoes. These, however, are really roomy. I'm afraid of exchanging for the next size down since there are only wholes. They are also really wide, more so than I expected. The top down picture is at a slight angle so it hides the full width of the shoe, but it not clownish yet....almost though. I got a great deal and so I'm sure if I will return them or not, especially since the quality looks good for the price, and they look like they would do well over the winter. |

I have a hard time finding stylish footwear that fits my feet comfortably. Most of my older shoes and boots end up with my little toe forcefully working it's way through the sidewall. I bought these in 14W, I usually go a size larger but these run a little big. So anyway, the fit is great the look is fantastic. However I didn't rate them higher because one of the pull straps partially tore when went to wear them. I don't mind enough to send them back and have still worn them many times since. I've had mine around two months now and have worn them 80% of the time... They're looking better with age and don't smell so bad that they'd ruin a first date as you casually kick em off. They keep out the wet but you may feel the cold somewhat as the sole isn't quite as thick as other Timberland boots - that's NOT a fault with the boot, just worth pointing out in case you're planning on standing around in the snow a lot or your job is holding the sign that says "Golf Sale Next Left". They seem to grip ok-ish in the snow so you shouldn't look like a one-legged chicken on roller skates either... Keep Calm, Carry On. Did I mention they're 'old pair of slippers comfortable'? Nice.
